AMAR PAVEMENT REHABILITATION PROJECT PHASE 3
City of Walnut
RKA Consulting Group provided comprehensive design, construction management, and inspection services for Phase 3 of the Amar Pavement Rehabilitation Project in the City of Walnut. This project encompassed approximately 0.75 miles of roadway improvements along Amar Road, from Creekside Drive to Nogales Street, as part of the City’s ongoing Pavement Management Program (PMS).
RKA’s scope of work included preparation of plans, specifications, and cost estimates (PS&E), as well as bid outreach, analysis, project award assistance, and full construction phase services, including inspection and project closeout.
The rehabilitation effort addressed significant roadway wear and extended the life of the pavement through a combination of targeted and full-depth improvements. Project elements included:
- Concrete repairs, including sidewalk, curb and gutter, curb ramps, and bus pads
- Full-depth removal and replacement of asphalt pavement, base material, and subgrade at key intersections
- Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) of all traveled lanes in phased segments, including grinding, pulverizing existing subgrade, cement treatment, and resurfacing with rubberized hot mix asphalt
